Blue Striped Recycle Scrunchie: up-cycled from leftover fabric from manufacturing other textiles in order to reduce fabric waste. Additionally, this product uses 91% recycled polyester fabric and the design is printed with Oeko-Tex™ certified inks that are vegan, water-based, and free of harmful chemicals.

This blue-striped pattern was inspired by my favorite childhood hoodie — this particular design carries a sense of comfort, familiarity, and nostalgia.

Recycled polyester is produced by recycling existing materials (like plastic bottles and packaging) but still has all the characteristics and performance as a regular polyester, making it a more sustainable fabric alternative.

How’s recycled polyester made? Recycled polyester is made by crushing plastic products into small pieces. These small pieces are then processed into yarn, transformed into a fiber, and in the end—made into a fabric.
